Our Partners

Everybody needs friends and at African Impact we truly value ours. Our strong partnerships with organisations in the responsible tourism sector have helped shape and grow our projects and the volunteer experiences we offer.

The International EcoTourism Society (TIES)

TIES is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting ecotourism. Founded in 1990, TIES has been in the forefront of the development of ecotourism, providing guidelines and standards, training, technical assistance, research and publications. TIES’ global network of ecotourism professionals and travellers is leading the efforts to make tourism a viable tool for conservation and sustainable community development.

Through membership services, industry outreach and educational programs, TIES is committed to helping organizations, communities and individuals promote and practice the principles of ecotourism.

WYSE Travel Confederation

The World Youth Student and Education Travel Confederation is a not-for-profit industry association dedicated to making travel experiences affordable, accessible and exciting for young people worldwide.

WYSE hosts the annual WYSTC Conference which we attend every year. The conference facilitates discussions and forums between suppliers of volunteer projects and European agencies.

African Impact is a proud member of this organization and through our association with WYSE we seek to enhance the sustainability of our projects through volunteering forums and interaction with other leaders in our niche of the tourism industry.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award

We are extremely proud to be listed as an overseas residential and volunteering trips provider for the prestigious Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) in the UK.

Every year hundreds of thousands of young people in the UK take part in a DofE programme which helps them develop new skills and fulfil their potential; and also makes them infinitely more employable when they finish school.

Delivered in over 12,500 centres all around the UK, the DofE is the UK’s leading youth achievement award.

Important: Gold Award participants must always check with their DofE Leader, in advance of booking, that the opportunity they are planning for their Residential section will count towards their DofE programme.  Find out more here.

Know Before You Go

African Impact is proud to be a member of the Know Before You Go alliance, promoting education and awareness amongst travellers to ensure that your trip is as safe and rewarding as possible!

Know Before You Go (KBYG) is an on-going campaign with around 600 travel industry partners aimed to educate and ensure British travellers stay safe and healthy abroad.

The campaign was launched in 2001 to promote key messages including adequate travel insurance, country travel advice and a checklist full of practical tips for having a safe and enjoyable time.

Volunteer Forever

We are proud to have partnered with Volunteer Forever whose mission is to make it easier for people to volunteer abroad by fundraising through their website.

Their platform allows volunteers to create a customized page highlighting their project and fundraising needs and receive online donations towards their trip.

Developed by volunteers who wanted a better fundraising solution, Volunteer Forever is committed to helping volunteers successfully raise the funds needed to volunteer abroad.

Antelope Park, Zimbabwe

Known as one of Southern Africa’s Most Intriguing Destinations, and voted second runner up in the 2012 AZTA Awards “Zimbabwe’s Best Safari Camp”, we are proud to be affiliated with Antelope Park, which was where African Impact was founded in 2004.

Antelope Park is home to the world famous ALERT lion rehabilitation programme, where volunteers play a vital role in lion conservation.

Set in over 3000 acres of open savannah grassland, Antelope Park is a stunning and unique game reserve. Walking with lions, riding through the wilderness on elephant or horseback, viewing the abundance of awesome wildlife and canoeing on the tranquil lake are just some of the wonderful activities guests can enjoy.
