Adult Education and Training Action Learning Program

Join us in the warm and welcoming village of Moshi in Tanzania for a 4-week program that impacts the quality and provision of adult education and training programs in rural communities. You will work alongside education professionals on our existing adult education projects and get involved in researching and mapping out education and vocational training programs for adults in the Kilimanjaro region. Using a wide range of methods and working with community focus groups, gain practical experience in research and education while developing a deeper understanding of education in a developing country.

LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THIS PROGRAM INCLUDE:

  • Living and working in a rural Tanzanian village, in the shadow of Mount Kilimanjaro
  • Gaining a deeper understanding of the adult education and training landscape in Tanzania with a focus on challenges and opportunities
  • Working alongside adults from diverse backgrounds while exploring the impact of our current adult education and training programs
  • Getting exposure to social research methodology skills and learning how to apply them in a practical context
  • Learning to analyze data and information and extract recommendations from your findings
  • Having your research used to inform recommendations to further develop and improve our adult education program, as well as for the local government to take into consideration
  • Learning conversational Swahili and experiencing the traditional culture and way of life in Tanzania

Our program fee includes:
  • Airport pick-up and drop-off by the African Impact team
  • All daily transfers to and from your workshop and Action Learning locations
  • Accommodation throughout your stay at our Moshi home
  • Three delicious meals a day, excluding weekends, cooked by chefs from the local community
  • Orientation program, including a security briefing and introduction to Tanzania
  • Workshops, field trips, and excursions on the program schedule
  • Assistance by the African Impact team and program coordinators
Our program fee excludes:
  • Flights to Moshi, Tanzania, but we can guide you on this
  • Personal insurance cover for the duration of the program
