Combination Projects Volunteering

At African Impact, we believe you should be able to get as much as you can out of your time abroad. So, if you can’t decide between two projects, or simply want to do and experience as much as you possibly can while volunteering, our combo projects can offer the perfect solution. You can maximize your impact while experiencing different kinds of volunteering at many of our volunteer destinations across Africa, including at our Greater Kruger project base in South Africa, our Antelope Park project base in Zimbabwe and our volunteer projects that are based at Victoria Falls.

At Antelope Park, the opportunities are endless. During the week, you could be working closely with local communities in schools, drop in centers or health clinics, while weekends could be spent walking with lions in the African bush or contributing towards the world’s first lion release program. Alternatively, how about applying for our Horse Management Program? Combined with our lion project, it makes for one incredible experience. You will gain invaluable experience in stable management, with the most incredible opportunities at your fingertips. You could:

  • Experience daily – and in true style – a horseback safari, getting up close with wildlife in the African bush
  • Enjoy show jumping, fast rides, polocrosse and horse swims
  • Take part in the ultimate overnight safari, sleeping under the stars in the Zimbabwean wilderness
  • Walk alongside lions in their natural habitat
  • Help to research a pride of semi-wild lions set for release into the wild

It is undoubtedly the best way to fully explore the African bush.

If South Africa is on your travel bucket list, our Big 5 Wildlife Research & Youth Empowerment Project could be just right for you. This project focuses on data collection of Africa’s ‘Big 5’ – the elephant, lion, rhino, buffalo and leopard. When not on game drives searching for these magnificent animals, you’ll be in the classroom helping to educate children on the importance of wildlife conservation and their environment; the ultimate way to work with both animals and children while contributing to long-term conservation.

Lastly, why not check out our Lions, Conservation and Community Project in Zambia? Based just a stone’s throw away from one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, Victoria Falls, this project has it all; wild animals, lion research and community engagement.

Excited about the prospect of doing it all? Well, your choice of destinations includes:

  • Antelope Park, Zimbabwe
  • Victoria Falls, Zambia
  • Greater Kruger Area, Kruger
