Antelope Park, Zimbabwe, holds a special place in our heart as it’s where African Impact was founded. It’s also the home to the world-first and very successful Lion Rehabilitation and Release into the Wild Program.
As any volunteer who has joined us knows, nothing feels better than knowing you’ve made a lasting impact during your time with us – whether big, or small. For some, that can simply be the fact that they have contributed to a much larger, on-going change, or in the case of others, they leave something behind that creates instant action.
In April 2016, 17 young, vibrant students and 2 teachers from the Danish school SKALs SIP class had just completed their last year of high school and decided to visit Zimbabwe to get an understanding of the communities and volunteering projects which are run there, namely our Community Teaching and Street Children Support Project on the private game reserve Antelope Park.
Interning abroad with African Impact is one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had. However, I know that raising funds is an incredibly daunting process. It is a TON of work, but I will also be the first to tell you that it is not impossible.
