With its warm and tropical climate Durban is a popular tourist destination offering a host of exciting activities and events as well as magnificent views across ocean, mountain and bush terrains.
The volunteer house and wooden cabin are situated on the grounds of the Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre only 200m from the clinic, making it very convenient to get to work daily. There are separate bedrooms and bathrooms in the main house with communal living areas. The wooden cabin sleeps four people and is usually reserved for volunteer couples or families who would like more privacy and quiet during their stay. The volunteer house sleeps up to nine people quite comfortably. Accommodation is furnished with basic appliances. Volunteers are responsible for doing their own laundry (facilities are provided) and keeping the house clean and tidy. Bedding is provided although most volunteers still prefer to bring a sleeping bag along with them.
The on-site clinic building has internet access that volunteers are welcome to make use of. You’ll be preparing you own meals and supermarket trips are provided for grocery shopping. The cooking is shared between fellow volunteers. Use your free time to explore the amazing attractions Durban has to offer. This volunteer project promises to be the adventure of a lifetime.
