You will spend 6-12 months living at Dumela Lodge, a project base for African Impact volunteers in the Greater Kruger area of South Africa. Volunteers from around the world travel to Dumela Lodge to take part in one of the many community or wildlife conservation-focused projects that African Impact operate on the ground.
Your primary role as lodge manager intern will be to support the Business Manager from African Impact in the running and logistics of the lodge, all the while being part of the staff team. Dumela lodge is used as platform on which we can build our volunteering experience to be even more meaningful and enjoyable. We are looking for a lodge manager intern who is passionate and driven, and ultimately committed to our shared goal.
In your role you will oversee and assist with daily operations of the lodge. You will gain insight into the various departments such as kitchen, housekeeping, lodge maintenance and hospitality. Daily duties can include hosting, guest arrival and departure logistics, coordinating stock and supplies, arranging trip and tours for guests or even setting up a sundowner event in the middle of the bush! Get involved with all the behind the scenes work that makes the volunteer's journey the most unforgettable experiences of their life.
Internship duties will be from Monday to Friday, leaving weekends to enjoy the area or just relax. You will also have the opportunity to join volunteers on activities when and where possible.
