Hands-On Lion Conservation Volunteering - Livingstone, Zambia
Our Livingstone Lion Conservation Volunteer Project is part of the
ground breaking ALERT Lion Rehabilitation Programme, which was launched
by African Impact at Antelope Park in 2004. As a volunteer on this
project, you will get involved in the vital research of the lions’
behaviour, and enjoy hands on volunteer work with lions, on the world’s
only significant programme for their release into the wild.
In 1975 over 200,000 lions used to roam the African continent. Estimates
from 2002 put the number of lions between 23,000 and 39,000,
representing an 80 to 90% decline in less than 30 years...
