African Impacts very own pilot project, home to ground breaking African Lion Rehabilitation and Release into the Wild Programme, at Antelope Park is where it all began. As a volunteer on this stunning reserve, you will get involved in the vital research of the lions’ behavior, and enjoy hands on volunteer work with lions, on the world’s only significant programme for their release into the wild.

In 1975 over 200,000 lions used to roam the African continent. Estimates from 2002 put the number of lions between 23,000 and 39,000, representing an 80 to 90% decline in less than 30 years...

We invite you to join us on this unique volunteer project, working hands on with African Lion cubs, and making an impact towards the continued survival of this iconic African animal...
