On the 1st of September 2010, we proudly released our first pride of 8 lions (1 male and 7 females) into a controlled site and Stage 2 of our Rehabilitation programme was officially underway! In stage two the lions are given the opportunity to develop a natural pride social system. They have plenty of game to hunt, and their progress is monitored closely, however all human contact is removed. The lions remain in stage two until such time that the pride is stable and self-sustaining.
