LION COUNTRY DOCUMENTARY SERIES IN PARTNERSHIP WITH OUR LION PROJECTS

The award-nominated Lion Country Documentary Series opened to rave reviews and a staggering 4.8 million viewers during prime time in the UK in January 2010, and has had an even more exciting response to the start of Season 2 last week.

The series is a fascinating documentary that follows the life of past African Impact volunteer and British conservationist David Youldon, as well as our African Impact Lion conservation programme founded at our flagship lion rehabilitation project at Antelope Park in Zimbabwe, in partnership with the renowned ALERT conservation trust.

Here's a recent update from David himself
"The second series of Lion Country has hit the airwaves of the UK; this time in a one hour format and in a more prime time slot.  The series continues to follow the work of the African Lion Rehabilitation & Release into the Wild Program by catching up with many of the lions featuring in the first series to see how they have progressed.  There are also some new faces to meet.  But the overarching theme for the series is of course the build up to the release of the Ngamo Pride of lions.  This is such an exciting moment for the whole team and of course the cameras then follow the lions to see how they do.  Since the last series aired we have seen a huge boost to our level of support and we can only hope that series two will improve that, allowing us to progress even further towards our end goal; the release of the lion back into the wild that will be born to the Ngamo Pride."
