A very sad day for African Impact – our much loved project Manager at Antelope Park, Simba Giya, has passed away suddenly this morning from kidney and heart failure, after a short illness. Simba was much loved and well respected by colleagues and volunteers on the project, and his work within the community surrounding Antelope Park has been invaluable to our organization, and the progress we have made in schools, orphanages and clinics supported by the project. Simba will be remembered as an energetic, vibrant man, who was liked and welcomed by everyone. He always had time for a laugh and a chat, and had a wonderful sense of humor, with a wry appreciation for human nature. Simba was a patient man, and always willing to lend a hand. Simba’s energy, warmth, and compassion, was the driving force behind setting up our community upliftment programmes in Gweru – the continued success of the projects will be a fitting testament to his memory. Simba has made a measurable, positive impact in so many people’s lives, may he rest in peace.
