With the end of 2012 fast approaching, it’s a good time to look back on the year. For us, the year is full of success stories and we have been totally in awe of the amazing hard work and drive we’ve seen from our volunteers – we couldn’t have done it without you or our dedicated staff! We want to share some of our project highlights from 2012 with you. ALERT’s New Education Centre at Antelope Park
The African Impact team built a fantastic education centre which was beautifully painted by the talented Kelly Langdon. The centre is a place of learning for local children where they are taught about conservation, animals, health and nutrition which are important skills they will hopefully pass on to others as they grow to be responsible and environmentally aware adults! Cape Town’s New Projects
Towards the end of this year we successfully launched new projects in Cape Town, including an exclusively over 30’s one, where our older volunteers are able to use their life experience and maturity to assist with vulnerable children and orphans who need care. Our popular new city projects are gaining traction and offer volunteers a chance to help with sports development, health and education while enjoy the bustling and vibrant Cape Town city centre. Subi the Lioness has her Cubs
We were all so excited when Subi, our Livingstone lioness gave birth to four adorable lion cubs earlier this month. All four are doing well and Subi is proving to be a most affectionate and loving mum! Zanzibar’s Football League
The Dulla Boys football project has been hugely successful. The team have won two cups and are now in the top national league, making them fantastic role models for youths in Zanzibar. Kikuyu Hospital in Kenya
Our African Impact Kenya Medical project team have been assisting The Happy Africa Foundation in conjunction with Planeterra in building a new paediatric ward at the Kikuyu Hospital. Currently, there is no children’s ward and kids who are ill have no toys to play with or comforting surroundings to make them feel better. Funds are still being raised to complete this ward. If you’d like to help please click here. These are only a few of our many proud moments from the year and we can’t wait for many more in 2013! Join us and be the change you wish to see in the world!
