Just a few more weeks until Trees for Zambia starts again – and you can still hop on a plane and join us!
Trees for Zambia, which is hosted by our partner Greenpop, aims to fight the drastic deforestation in the Livingstone area by planting thousands of trees, spreading environmental awareness, and providing alternative energy sources to the local community. In July 2012, we successfully launched Trees for Zambia. In three weeks, and in partnership with local authorities and NGOs, we planted 4135 trees with 200 volunteers from both Zambia and around the world. It was an inspiring start to an ongoing campaign to make Livingstone a greener place – and this year’s event will be even better. Here's what happened last year: Trees for Zambia 2012
Volunteers are essential to the continuing success of Trees for Zambia. And as a volunteer, you will not only get your hands dirty - you will also have the opportunity to learn about conservation issues through a series of lectures, workshops, and debates. We will be hosting notable speakers, who will present their expertise on issues such as climate change, deforestation, and environmental conservation in Africa. On top of this, we’ll be hosting fun parties during some evenings with amazing live music to celebrate!
Oh and then there’s Livingstone and its awe-inspiring beauty. During weekends, you’ll have a chance to visit the mighty Victoria Falls, and do some of the exciting activities that Livingstone has to offer – you can, for instance, go on a lion walk (with Lion Encounter), experience the Zambezi’s power while white water rafting, or explore the African bush from the back of an elephant.
We’re currently offering a 10% last-minute discount, so grab your chance and join the Treevolution!
