The Happy Africa Foundation could not be more proud yesterday after celebrating the 22,000 books and 10 desktop computers arriving in Livingstone at their Books for Africa Presentation Ceremony. The books are a result of over a year’s worth of fund-raising, dedicated hard work from the Happy Africa and African Impact team and the tremendous support from all the donors who enabled THAF to ship the container from the states to Nakatindi Health and Education Centre where they hosted the event. In attendance were representatives from all the schools Happy Africa work with who requested books, and their special dignitaries; a representative of the Town Clerk, the Ministry of Education Provincial Officer, Director of Museums, Daniel Mwale the representative of institutions, Nakatindi Area Councilor and of course the Headmaster of Nakatindi Mr. Choongu. All of whom spoke so fondly of African Impact and Happy Africa for their dedication to the education of Livingstone. Reporting on the event were the newspapers; Times of Zambia, and Daily Mail, TV station ZNBC and radio station Zambezi FM. Performances from Mwandi and Nakatindi Schools blew our team away with their skits, singing and traditional dancing. This was a huge event for Happy Africa marking not only the joyous occasion of the books arrival but also celebrating their work throughout the local communities. "All that has been said today are expressions of our eternal joy to the world. We are humbled have you all witness the ceremony. Thank you so much"- child representative of Nakatindi Community School. If you are interested in helping the local schools and communities in Livingstone click here.
