Considering a break from your office routine or a new adventure to spice up your retirement? Our new ‘Pre School and Community Development Project’, is specifically for over 30’s. Based in the heart of a Big 5 Game Reserve in Thanda, South Africa, the project will see you assisting with sustainable development projects and education in the rural and underprivileged communities of Thanda. Volunteering is usually considered by most as an activity for students and young adults, often following high school or university graduation. However there are countless reasons for those older and more experienced to consider a volunteer experience. Not only will you have the opportunity to share your wealth of life experiences, knowledge and skills with those you are working with, but volunteering in Africa will undoubtedly change your outlook on life and even benefit your career. Whether you want to take a full on ‘career break’ or simply volunteer in Africa for the span of a regular holiday, the ‘Over 30’s Pre School and Community Development Project’ can accommodate you, with placements available for 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 weeks. For this project, no specific experience is required and we welcome people from all walks of life, although an interest in teaching, a caring nature and an enthusiasm with children is encourage. And when you return to your normal routine – whether it be commencing a new career, returning to your old job or even retirement - you’ll have more than a t-shirt to remind you of your time in Africa.
