Important Documents - Working & Travelling in Africa
It is vital that you make 3 photocopies each of
all your important travel documents such as visas, passports and
work permits.
You should keep one copy in your backpack, one
for your day-bag and one to give a set to your
parents or a reliable friend back home. Ask them to put
them in a safe place in case you need to contact them in case of
an emergency. To be extra safe we recommend making copies of the
following:
- Drivers licence
- Serial number of flight tickets
- Your embassy phone # in the countries you will be visiting
- International drivers licence Glasses/contact prescription
- Serial # of travellers cheques
- Serial # on valuables e.g. cameras
- International youth hostel card
- All insurance details and any emergency contact numbers
- Credit card numbers & emergency numbers to report theft
